Air pollution affects everyone’s health, especially children. The Clean Air Schools initiative empowers schools, students and parents to take action for air quality within their school and community.
The program is free and open to all preschool, elementary, middle and high schools in Georgia. Schools can apply for the program at any time.
To become a Clean Air School, schools must select at least one of the programs below:
No-Idling Program Encourages parent drivers and school bus drivers to turn off their engines when dropping off or waiting for students, decreasing harmful emissions. |
Pool to School Provides schools with the tools to organize and promote carpooling to school to reduce traffic, increase carpool efficiency and reduce pollution. |
Ride The Bus! For Clean Air Designed to get more students on the bus and out of cars that contribute to traffic on and around school grounds. |
