Air quality issues exist in areas across Georgia. That’s why The Clean Air Campaign is now working in more regions throughout the state, providing resources to help us all breathe easier.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has classified 28 counties in Georgia as nonattainment areas for ground-level ozone and/or particle pollution.
Presently, the air over Bibb, Clarke, Murray, Muscogee and Richmond counties is considered by the EPA to meet the standards for attainment, but these areas are at risk in the near future of falling into nonattainment status, due to increasing pollution from stationary and mobile sources.
